About Wildlife Nomads
Connecting people through wildlife, protecting nature through action, and inspiring change through education.
Our mission
We believe the natural world is more astonishing than any story, and that when people truly see it, they can’t help but want to protect it.
Wildlife Nomads exists to make science accessible. We turn real research and field experience into stories anyone can fall in love with, bridging science and storytelling so that understanding leads to care, and care leads to action.
What began as a living library of wildlife articles and conservation stories is now growing into something hands-on. Because every story shared, every fact checked, and every reef replanted brings us a step closer to a world that values the wild.
Explore. Inspire. Conserve.
Our story
Born from a love for nature, built on a mission to protect.
Wildlife Nomads grew from a shared love for wildlife, travel, and the planet we call home. It was founded by Cesar Medina Davila, a conservation biologist from Oaxaca, Mexico, and Jaclyn Babbage, a digital nomad and ocean enthusiast from Australia: two people who wanted to connect science, storytelling, and action.
Cesar’s journey began with wonder and grew into purpose. As a student researcher he worked on conserving the endemic axolotl of Alchichica Lagoon, where he saw first-hand how fragile, and how overlooked, ecosystems can be. His path led from Mexico to Australia, a Double Master’s in Conservation and Environment, and fieldwork in Mexico, Sweden, and Australia. But the dream of building a space to share knowledge and inspire others never left him.
For Jackie, Wildlife Nomads grew out of years as a digital nomad and founder of Gifting Owl, combining entrepreneurship with exploration. Her love of freediving and snorkelling has taken her beneath the waves across Asia, Latin America, and the Pacific — and every dive deepened her drive to protect the ocean. She brings strategy, creativity, and heart to everything we build.
Meet the founders
We pair scientific knowledge with real-world experience, united by a love of nature, travel, and learning.

Every sighting Cesar makes in the field is logged to iNaturalist, identified by the wider naturalist community, and — once verified — shared with GBIF, the global biodiversity database. Not a portfolio. A public record anyone can check.
Individual records of wild animals, each with a date, a location and a photograph.
Across fieldwork in Mexico, Sweden, Australia and everywhere the travelling has taken us.
Research Grade: independent naturalists reviewed the identification and agreed. These records are shared with GBIF for use in real science.
Restoring reefs, not just writing about them
In 2025 we took our next step, from documenting nature to restoring it. We’re developing a coral reef restoration project in Mexico’s Riviera Maya and Baja California, blending ecotourism, education, and habitat regeneration.
It’s the heart of our mission: reconnecting people with nature not only through stories, but through real action. Every contribution supports coral planting, long-term reef monitoring, and programs that help travellers and local communities give back to the ocean.
Wildlife Nomads is a growing hub for researchers, students, and wildlife lovers around the world, a place where scientific knowledge and storytelling meet to make species, ecosystems, and conservation truly accessible.
Science you can trust
Accessible doesn’t mean loose with the facts. Here’s how we keep it honest.
